Acoustic Shock
Acoustic Shock first came into being in the head of a little boy in 1982. Just a figment of his fevered imagination at the time, they grew, like Coronavirus in an immunology lab into a fully formed three-piece musical band. They were revered by the public at the time but exploded horrifically, mid-Brit Pop.
Realising that death comes to us all, the little boy from 1982 decided that before that mortal coil was shuffled from, noise could be made and fun could be had if only he could glue all the parts of the exploded band together again. And so a lengthy process began to reconstitute the band. Using more or less the original pieces, the band decided not to play cover-versions and instead plays new material. Though 80s/90s indie in their youth, they hit upon the idea of paying homage to their Birmingham and Black Country roots, while only using the three chords they still knew; G, D, and "The Other One".
The sound they came up with was 1973, with some New Wave, Post-Punk thrown in like a contaminant to an expensive and supposedly flawless car respray.
Using influences like The Faces, Slade, Led Zeppelin and some Sabbath-riffing, Acoustic Shock produced and then recorded an album called Black Country Blues, the reaction to which has been "I don't understand, this sounds really good, but it's you. How can this be?" and "I really thought you'd be shit!"
Acoustic Shock are coming to a town near you soon; Perhaps even your actual town. You can find out where and when by clicking this link and signing up to the mailing service, whatever that is.

We released Black Country Blues in August, July? Don't know; it was in 2022 anyway. Well, we've been working super-hard and to coincide with our first live date in who knows how many years (The Dark Horse, Moseley, 30/11/2022), we're releasing the CD version.
Just £10 at a venue and £12.99 via the site, including p&p to the UK (contact us for outside the UK, we're sure we can sort something out) So, no more messing about with Spotify et al, now you can listen to Acoustic Shock on your own terms: yeah, don't let them tell you that cars without CD players are OK! Break them rules! Ask yer dad what a CD is! The packaging for the gatefold album cover is made from recycled paper and you know how the CD stays in the case on that little round thing that always breaks? Well this is made out of cork! How eco is that?!
